Fryerstown Road Vineyard is located in the Macedon Ranges Wine Region about one kilometre from the picturesque village of Taradale. At an elevation of 450 metres, grapes are grown in a cool climate environment. The vineyard can be irrigated on demand from the Coliban Main Channel. A fully equipped winery with bottling facilities is located at the vineyard. Contact production arrangements are available and have been used where permanent facilities are being constructed or where Macedon Ranges Region wine is added to the range offered.
Planting of vines commenced in 1988, with the first commercial vintage made in 1995. The vineyard is planted to classic French varieties Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Chardonnay. A trial plot of Pinot Noir is being evaluated.
